Common questions.

Is there really no subscription?

No. Modus is a one-time purchase through the Mac App Store. You buy it once, you own it, and you get every feature in the version you bought — plus paid major upgrades when they ship (you can choose whether to take them).

What does the trial include?

Everything. 30 days of the complete app with no feature gates, no credit card, no countdown banners. When the trial ends, the app moves into read-only mode — you keep editing existing data and exporting anything you want; new records resume when you unlock.

Do I need an Apple Developer account or licence key?

Neither. Modus is distributed exclusively through the Mac App Store. Unlocks are tied to your Apple ID — restore on any Mac you sign into, with no keys to manage and no licence emails to lose.

Where does my data live?

On your Mac, in a local SQLite database. If you turn on iCloud sync, it copies between your own devices through Apple's encrypted private CloudKit. It never goes to a Modus server — there isn't one.

Can I export everything?

Yes. Contacts, deals, invoices, time, notes — all exportable as CSV, vCard, or PDF. Even if Modus ceases to exist, your data is on your Mac in a documented format.

What about Modus Books and Modus Projects?

Both are in early development and will ship as separate App Store purchases when ready. Studio stays standalone — buying it doesn't lock you into the rest of the family, and the others won't replace Studio if you don't want them.
